Meet the Shadow Minister
Biography
Kim Carr is the Shadow Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research and a Senator for Victoria. He was Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, and Minister for Higher Education, for much of the former Labor Government’s tenure.
Senator Carr has long argued that science and research must be at the center of innovation policy in order to sustain the social and economic transformation of Australia. He has been a staunch advocate for universities and public research agencies throughout his extensive parliamentary service.
Senator Carr is a regular contributor to journals and the author of A Letter to Generation Next – Why Labor? He lives in Melbourne with his wife, Carole, and has four children.
